Luft is inspired by a very chic 1985 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Targa, which Julian Meagher, the founder of Playforever, owned while living in Florence, Italy, for two years. This beautiful ivory-colored car was perfect for cruising through the hills of Tuscany and undoubtedly made every trip to school a true delight. We began designing the shape of Luft without any details, except for the wraparound Targa band, which seemed like the right choice to us. So we went all in and committed to it, fully aware that countless 911 fans and car designers would scrutinize our work. Fortunately, we succeeded, and we are very happy with the result. We plan to make another 911, based on the 930 turbo, the icon of the 80s, and we might even make it a slant-nose with a double-scale whale tail. Take a look at our Instagram feed for more information on that.
Meagher's Targa has since been sold to a lovely Danish family who will undoubtedly take good care of it and keep it in beautiful condition.
