After the holidays, the scout elves must return to the North Pole to prepare for Christmas for the following year. Once back at the North Pole, they share their stories with the other elves, undergo flight training, and help Santa and his wife. On special occasions, Santa gives the elves permission to return to the family home for a short time throughout the year. According to tradition, a scout elf loses its magic when touched by human hands. If they are safely in their gift box, they can be moved normally. Once the elf has been adopted and given a name, it must not be touched.
