Playforever | Luft Pfeiffer Car

Luft is inspired by a very stylish 1985 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Targa, which Julian Meagher, the founder of Playforever, owned whilst living in Florence, Italy, for two years. This car, in a beautiful ivory colour, was perfect for cruising through the hills of Tuscany and undoubtedly made every trip to school a real pleasure. We began designing the shape of Luft without any specific details, apart from the wraparound Targa strip, which seemed the right choice to us. So we threw ourselves into it and went for it, fully aware that countless 911 fans and car designers would be scrutinising our work. Fortunately, we succeeded and we are very pleased with the result. We plan to make another 911, based on the 930 Turbo, the icon from the 1980s, and we might even create a double-scale version with a sloping nose and a ‘whale tail’. Meaghers Targa has now been sold to a lovely Danish family who will undoubtedly look after it well and keep it in beautiful condition.
