Bakker made with love
Though David and Valérie Bakker had a degree in Political Science and Law, respectively, they suddenly felt the urge to do something more creative. They opened a small chain of furniture stores throughout France. After ten years of experience in the field and the birth of their 3 children, they decided to switch profession once again - this time swapping furniture design for children's clothing. They moved to Indonesia and sought out gifted artisans, inspired by the ancient techniques of local craftsmen that have mostly been forgotten by our European counterparts. They presented their first collection in June 2005, and today their line of clothing satisfies children's needs and tastes: a magical combination of timeless basic styles in bright colors and soft, refined handmade fabrics with motifs inspired by our frequent travels. Their clothes express the essential values of childhood: comfort, freedom, innocence, and exuberance.
